Please read this about the spelling of this name.
It may help you in your research.

The first name of this line in this country was MINGE. We are not sure that this is the way it was spelled in Wales or UK.  As this family spread out through the country, the spelling of the name changed. Sometimes because of the Census takers, sometimes because the person filling out the document (marriage license, birth certificate and other). That is why you may see the name spelled differently between father and son.  The best way to connect your family is to be able to trace the person through a record that ties the person to their father, mother, grandparent, sister or brother. Sometimes a will  lists the person as a child. You may have a relative with the last name spelled  as Mingy on a census and you have a family bible that calls that  same person out as Minga or Mingay.  The main thing is to prove the connection. Hope this will  help you to find your family.

Some ways this name has been spelled:
Minga, Mingay, Minge, Mingea, Mingee,  Mingey,
Minggee, Minggia, Mingia,  Mingua, Mingy, Mynge

Our family is like the branches of a tree.
We may grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.
Each of us will always be a part of the other.

TRICKS OUR MIND CAN PLAY

If it's not bad enough with all the problems that faulty records cause for us, sometimes our own minds can play tricks on us. That date you are extracting from a burial record, is it the date of death or the burial date? Is that a birth date or baptism date? Are your forming assumptions about your ancestors as far as their ethnicity, religion, relationships, etc.?

Sometimes it helps if we list, "just the facts, ma'am."  My favorite way to do this is with a timeline, it really works. You don't need any fancy formats or software--you can  just use word processing software or a spreadsheet. You can even do it using index cards. Just gather all your data on the individual or family in question and start listing events in chronological order. I always include the corroborating sources for each event so that if I happen to run into something that doesn't quite fit, I can analyze the sources I used and try to determine what is correct.
There is a free data base that everyone can have it they want it. This is the way you get it.
