My own results have recently come through and I have posted them below. I would be more than happy to recommend all who are willing to have there DNA analysed so we can find some links between our families.
It would appear that my Paternal Haplogroup is I1a, which www.Ancestry.co.uk calls 'THE STONEMASONS' Interesting when one interpretation of the surname Mingay is Stone Dog?
The migration of my tribe seems as all humans to migrate from Africa to the rest of the world. It appears I may have descended from southern Europe to Scandinavia to the UK. This may tie in with Jacks belief that we originated in the UK from Rollo The Viking who founded the Duchy of Normandy. The rest we know of course with the invasion of England by William and the founding of our current eclectic mix of genes
Paternal Lineage Test Results for Robin Mingay
I am hoping to expand this part of the site to a much greater extent know that DNA testing is so much more affordable. I am also considering investing in a maternal line test.
I would like to thank www.ancestry.co.uk for an amazingly speedy service, and recommend them highly. There are some other companies out there too who are excellent. For those of you who would like to find out more there are a couple of links below you may find useful.
